The price is good, for one! Also, our rates are calculated based on the hotel filling rooms. If we do not fill our allotted rooms, we will still pay for them. Not coming directly out of your pocket? Well, yes it is. It comes out of our general funds (which are your yearly dues...) Please keep that in mind.

Florina Romoser - Pre-Conference
Creativity, Inspiration: Going Above and Beyond Your Standard Portrait Session:
Focus less on the photograph, more on the result.
This class will concentrate on creating value, not volume and how to attract the right clients who love what you do and will spend what it takes to have your portraits in their homes.
This is why we will each discuss ways to create a higher sense of value and how we pre-educate our clients on the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into each portrait before they step through the door. This program is focused on effective use of the core portrait photographer’s “toolbox” (Camera, Lens, Light, Props, Posing, etc) that consistently results in powerful portraits. Learn how to find and grow your creative style, find inspiration and work with YOUR imagination. Florina will also talk about her work and the thought process behind creating her imagery. Learn to create with confidence and eliminate the boundaries between what is possible and impossible.
The hands-on shooting and location events are core elements of this intense yet fun class and we will use all types of light (Natural, Available, Reflected, Florescent, LED, Strobe etc. ) and practice how to blend light and subject to gain the most impact. This is an active class and direct student involvement, and participation is key! We will finish with a step-by-step post processing training using Adobe LR and PS where the students will edit images and compete in a final class image.
Hands on creative photo shoots both in studio and on location, lighting, posing, propping for creative story telling.
